My son, who has ADD - said he saw a girl on the roof in a night gown - he said that she
was waving at him. He wanted to take a picture of her - but I wouldn't let him, so I told him
to tell me where she was and I took the picture. This is what came up. There is a cloudy
person standing in the middle window. This was at 10am in the morning April of this year,
2007.

Ann,
Hope this finds you well. I thought I would write to you and let you know that we went
back to New Orleans to visit family. Unfortunately, we did not stay at the Placd'armes
again, so I didn't get an opportunity to encounter my old friend. We ended up staying
with my son. It was the week of Jazz Fest....so, rooms were few and far between. At any
rate, I wanted to let you know that we did manage to drive to St. Francisville and see
Myrtles. It is a place no one should miss. Fair warning, it is a bit of a drive (around eighty
miles), but worth the trip. I was disappointed that we could only take pictures of the
mirror when inside the house. I am sure if you actually stay overnight, you can take a lot
more pictures.
You don't have to be sensitive to feel the atmosphere and mystery of this beautiful
place. It is literally like stepping into another reality. Fortunately, it wasn't a busy day and
we didn't have to share the tour with more than a couple of other folks. We did take the
allotted pictures of the mirror and the grounds. I have some other pictures that are not
digital and I will send them to you if you would like to see them. Forgot your address....I
got excited when I first saw the mirror picture as it appeared that something was blocking
one of the stair rungs.....that was quickly debunked when I called Myrtles and
asked...Yes, indeed there are some missing on the staircase. The mirror is interesting, but
I am sure that the stories have been embellished and there does appear to be numerous
flaws in the mirror itself.
We didn't really see anything (remember, I don't see well anyway)....but it was hard not to
feel the influences of the past. At one point during the very short tour just before the
end, we were in what was the children's dining area. I became very chilled and actually had
goose bumps and sensations on the back of my neck. Since the house is now heavily air
conditioned, it is hard to pin point that as unusual....however, I was not standing under any
vent. There was so much tragedy associated with almost every inch of Myrtles. Anyway,
thought you might enjoy some pictures...and if you send me that address again, I will send
you a couple more that are interesting.
My best to you,
Carole G
