Brad:  Senior Investigator, Interviewing Specialist, Debunker, and Researcher

My name's Brad Smith. I'm a freelance journalist, having recently relocated to Sacramento
after working for a daily newspaper in Northern California. I was born in Ontario,
Oregon--but I've always considered Ashland, Oregon, to be my hometown. I've also lived
in Nebraska and Tennessee and traveled across the country.

As Gandalf once said, "All who wander aren't lost."

Being a reporter is one of the best jobs in the world. From time to time, I've had the chance
to do some incredible things: I've been with firefighters as they trained inside a burning
building, experiencing firsthand the effects of smoke and fire; I've flown on helicopters with
law enforcement officers as they raided drug operations. I suited up as a Confederate
soldier during a Civil War re-enactment and wrote about it. I really do love my job.

I became interested in the paranormal at a young age; I spent a lot of time in the school
library, reading books about ghosts, UFOs, cryptids and the like. Charles Hoy Fort's
books, especially, spurred my interests. A number of past experiences confirmed my I belief
that there's a lot we don't know about the world around us . . . and I want to know more
about those mysteries.

Aside from working as a freelance journalist, I love reading. From science fiction to history,
being a bibliophile is a vice of mine. I love moves, from Kurosawa Akira's samurai films to
Tarantino's quirky epics. On some weekends, I'm a guest panelist on a radio show called
"Beyond the Paranormal." A tech-geek, I'm always on the prowl for new gadgets. My
girlfriend April and I also enjoy sightseeing and exploring local haunts-- the non-paranormal
kind, that is.

Day Job:  Freelance journalist
Hobbies:  Writing, reading, photography, history, films and
                      real-time strategy computer games.

Lisa:  Investigator in Training - Watch that face :)

Lisa was born is Missouri but raised in California, mostly Sacramento.   Lisa is a wife
to Michael and a mother to Kaitlin.  In her spare time she likes being with friends,
watching roller derby, listening to music and reading (when Kaitlin allows).  I first was
exposed to the supernatural when I was in elementary school.  The house her family
lived in was haunted by a nice old lady who played with my cat and liked to make her
presence known by switching channels on the TV, opening the door from garage into
the house and walking on the ceiling.  Ever since she has always wondered what else is
there "after death"?

Day Job:  Executive Asst. at a non-profit air ambulance company.
Hobbies:  cooking, movies as often as I can see them, going to Disneyland
(especially at Halloween), spoiling my baby-girl!
Wendy:  Investigator in Training - This one is quiet, but don't let that fool you.

Wendy was born in Virginia.  She also lived in Maryland & Pennsylvania before moving
to California 25 years ago.  In her spare time she enjoys being with friends, going to
movies, exploring rumored local haunts, and spends too much time on MySpace.  She
also will take any opportunity to go to Disneyland because it means she gets to spend
time spoiling her nieces.  She had her first experience with a ghost about 10
years ago and has been trying to learn everything she can on the paranormal ever since.

Day Job:  Administrative assistant for wireless construction & engineering at AT&T

Hobbies:  Doing just about anything with friends, making beaded necklaces, going to
Vegas & Disneyland, exploring local rumored haunts

Alyssa:  Investigator  in Training

I am a self taught artist and techie - and I tend to classify myself as being a geek wannabe.

My range of interests and hobbies is diverse and varied, and I tend to juggle a lot of
projects and goals at all times.

I've had activity around me all my life and I might be taking after my Indian grandmother ...it
seems as I get older, more of what Grandma did I am starting to find myself doing as well.

I live with my fiancé Ray and our American Pit Bull Terrier Toby and our kitty and a
plethora of other critters that come and go. Currently we are taming two feral kittens to be
re-homed once they are more people-friendly.

We also show Toby in UKC dog shows for fun and are planning to do therapy, CGC,
dock jumping, agility, weight pulling, and perhaps tracking besides championing him, that is if
Toby enjoys it.

I became a little more interested in investigating as the house we currently rent has been
getting a LOT more active and we both became more interested in what the history of the
property might be. We wanted to learn more about how to research and investigate the
past behind potential haunted structures or properties to see what could be learned.

Plus we have both long wanted to take pictures in "places of interest" since we met in '89 ...
rather than going about it in a haphazard manner, it seemed like it might be smarter to learn
the ropes and such with a knowledgeable group that we mesh well with and that has the same
mindsets as we do when it comes to evidence and how to acquire it.

I am excited at what I will learn while hopefully making good friends as we meet new people.
The fact that we will quite likely be helping someone else is just icing on the cake.

Day Job:  Multimedia and Teach Support department of a dot com company
Hobbies:  I'm just really all over the place when it comes to what I am interested in doing

          and exploring.

Kelly C.:  Investigator  in Training

I’m 25 years old and was born and raised in Loomis, CA. I joined API because I have an
overwhelming desire to find out what happens to us, if anything, after we pass on. I have
always been interested in the paranormal, having grown up in a house built in the late 1800’s
with some odd occurrences happening while I lived there. However, I’m a very logical person,
and unless I see proof right in front of me that isn’t explainable any other way, I reserve
judgment one way or the other. My hope is to scientifically and logically confirm what I hope
to be true.

Jason K.: Investigator  in Training

My name is Jason and I grew up in a spooky farmhouse in Oklahoma. I don't remember it
being haunted in the true sense of the word, but all those odd nightly sounds, shadowed
corners and feelings that I was about to be axed by a spectre with a scar and a grudge
tends to leave its mark on a young, wide-eyed kid! Since then, I have practiced opening up
myself to psychic phenomena, with an eager emphasis on retro-cognition and intuition. I
love to confront the fear of the unknown! I have always wanted to help bring
understanding to those who fear the activity in their home or business and even spirits
themselves should they "ask" for it in some way, whether I feel they need help or they ask
directly somehow.

I asked and did receive! I moved to Sacramento in 1997 where my wife and I lived in an
apartment that was already occupied by the spirit of a young woman whom we often heard
walking barefoot down our carpeted hallway, and who enjoyed hiding our truck keys for
hours, then giving them back to us in obvious places! Once we found the truck keys placed
intentionally in a pyramid style on the edge of the driver's seat. Some years later, I was at a
friend's house and felt energy moving around by the back bedrooms when everyone there
was in the front room. So I watched the hallway without saying a word and clearly saw the
apparition of a tall balding man walk from one bedroom to the next silently. When I
followed, he had gone.

Day Job:  I'm a Computer Desktop Support Technician
Hobbies:  I love to write fiction. I have published one book and hope to publish my first
trilogy soon! I also love reading and meditation.
